"I brought in my father's Seiko 5 for a service — the watch had been sitting for a few years and wasn't running well. The intake process was thorough; they photographed the watch and noted its condition in writing before I left. Took about twelve working days. The service record they gave me at collection was more detailed than I expected."

"Took my Omega Seamaster in for refinishing after a few years of regular wear. The case had lost its definition on the brushed surfaces. They consulted me beforehand on how aggressive I wanted the work — appreciated that. End result was exactly what I'd hoped for: clean but not overdone. Took about nine days."

"I was visiting Chiang Mai and dropped off my grandmother's old Swiss dress watch for assessment. I wasn't sure if it was worth conserving. They were honest about what the piece needed and what it didn't — no unnecessary upselling. The written plan gave me a proper understanding of the scope before I agreed to anything."

"Routine service on my daily Tudor. The timing results they included with the service record were a nice detail — you can actually see the improvement from before to after. Watch has been running well for six months since. Will bring it back on the next cycle."

"Brought three watches in over the past two years. The bracelet refinishing work on my stainless steel model was particularly well done. I'd asked for the brushed flanks to be refreshed but the polished surfaces left alone — they respected that. Minor note: the turnaround was a day longer than quoted, but they called ahead to let me know."

"My grandfather's vintage Longines had been in a drawer for fifteen years. I wasn't even sure it could be brought back to running condition. Tempora presented a conservation plan with clear stages and costs before touching anything. The watch now runs within a few seconds a day. Genuinely pleased."

Three projects in detail

Challenge

A 1968 Longines Flagship belonging to the client's grandfather had been unworn for over a decade. The crown was seized, the movement stopped, and the dial showed foxing from humidity exposure during storage in a non-climate-controlled room.

What We Did

Full disassembly and ultrasonic clean of the movement. Crown mechanism freed and existing stem replaced with a correct-era part sourced from a specialist. Dial dried under controlled conditions over several days — original patina retained. No reluming or redial work.

Outcome

Movement running at +4 seconds per day across positions. Foxing on dial reduced to a level the client considered acceptable without intervention. Conservation record provided. Timeline: six weeks including parts sourcing.

"It still looks like a sixty-year-old watch — which is exactly what it is. They understood that was the point."

— K.W., Chiang Mai

Challenge

A stainless steel sports watch with mixed brushed and polished finishing had accumulated deep scratches on the case mid-sections and the bracelet end links, while the client wanted the bezel's polished top surface preserved as-is.

What We Did

Pre-work consultation confirmed exact zones for refinishing and those to be left untouched. Brushed surfaces on flanks and lugs re-established by hand. End links and bracelet links finished to match. Bezel untouched as agreed.

Outcome

Case and bracelet returned to a coherent appearance while maintaining the bezel contrast the client valued. Before/after photographs included in the record. Nine working days from drop-off to collection.

"The distinction between the brushed and polished parts is sharper than it ever was. Exactly what a watch this age should look like."

— M.H., Chiang Mai

Challenge

A client's daily-wear automatic had been running approximately eight minutes fast per day and had not been serviced in seven years. Humidity exposure in Thailand had accelerated lubricant degradation beyond what the original service interval assumed.

What We Did

Full movement service with climate-appropriate lubricants selected for Chiang Mai conditions. Hairspring regulator adjusted across positions over two days. Water resistance test confirmed case seal within rating.

Outcome

Rate reduced to +3 seconds per day. Client briefed on a revised four-year service interval for the local climate. Watch running well six months on from service. Twelve working days total.

"I didn't know the climate here made a difference to servicing schedules. They explained it clearly and didn't make me feel like I should have known."

— T.N., Chiang Mai
